A Prologue Evoking the Sadness of Destiny

At first glance, what struck me was that the protagonist in the PROLOGUE is a mother with a child (laughs).

This feels quite different from any other Gundam series I’ve seen before.

The story carries a strong political tone, with discussions revolving around mobile suits, weapon development, and so on. In recent years, it feels more akin to OO (Double-O) than SEED or Iron-Blooded Orphans.

By watching the prologue, we can understand the protagonist’s connection to Gundam, but she’s just four years old, which is quite young (laughs). Although we don’t know what kind of dialogue she’ll have in the main story, she seems to have the potential to be a Newtype.

It’s reminiscent of Banagher Links in Gundam Unicorn, who inevitably ends up piloting the Unicorn Gundam.

Nowadays, it seems like Gundams won’t activate just by sitting in the cockpit and gripping the controls (laughs).

However, the prologue involves many casualties and unfolds in a rather intense manner.

It makes me wonder, have Gundams existed since ancient times?

Or were they developed more recently? The final words are quite shocking: “To deny all Gundams.”

As the first Gundam TV series of the Reiwa era, “Mobile Suit Gundam: Mercury’s Witch” promises to deliver an epic, profound, and captivating story. I’m curious to see how it unfolds!
